Welcome to the second part of The R&R Special.  Ryan and Richard are building a Model T Speedster.

This part covers activity from January, 2005 to the present.

 

The front lowering bracket parts are done……

 

Got the front lowering bracket done…

 

It fits up nicely……

 

Let’s get to work on the rear lowering part.

OK, both front and rear lowering brackets and springs mounted on the frame…..

Here it is….cleaned up, repaired… looks ok….

 

Let’s get this front axle apart…..

 

Get those old perch bushings out of there…..

 

Hold this thing down, Mike….

 

Got the spindle bushings replaced…..

 

Let’s get it installed…..

Get the tie rod installed……

 

Looking good…..

 

Hmmm A hook on the front axle….wonder what that’s all about…..

 

Got the rear end torn apart……

Who’s doing the work here?????

 

OK, let’s get the differential apart……

 

The innards look pretty good……

 

The 40 tooth will be replaced by a 39 tooth gear…..

 

Pulling out the bearing shells…..

 

Bearings are worn…….

 

Mike cleans up the housings…..

 

The axles are in good shape……

 

Get these wire brushed and sanded…….

 

Looking good…..

 

Oops, the pins are sheared off… drill them out….

 

Press in some new ones….good as new..

 

POR-15 plus lots of elbow grease…..they look pretty good…….

 

The wheels after a bit of treatment with Kwik Poly….

Then it moved outdoors….
