APCO Style
Radius Rod Anti-Rattler
Spring Loaded Radius Rod (Wishbone) Ball
Support
The
Model T Wishbone is
fastened to the engine pan with a simple casting, which can wear over time,
create clearance and can allow the wishbone to move and even rattle. The wishbone is the important component that
holds the front axle secure, and looseness may cause shimmy or other steering
troubles.
The
APCO Style Spring Loaded Wishbone Ball Support ends this problem by
applying a continuous spring tension on the ball through a special brass
‘button’ between the spring and the ball.
The ‘button’ is made of brass and is concave to fit the radius of the
wishbone ball. The special spring
provides tension when compressed by the steel spring tensioning screw threaded
into the tough cast brass body. The plug
is secured by a cotter pin. Just add
plenty of your favorite grease at installation.

Note
the mounting of the APCO Style support uses the standard studs, springs and
nuts which must be tightened securely until the springs are collapsed and
secured with wire so that the studs cannot back out. The support’s spring tensioning screw must be
secured with a cotter pin (included)

This unit is
installed on a 1912 Delivery and has been run several thousand
miles including many
tours.
